Happy Father's Day!!!!

Father’s Day began in Washington State in 1909 when one woman wanted to honor her dad and asked her church to have a service dedicated to fathers. It caught on in that state and soon spread across the country.  Soon States and organizations lobbied for an annual Father’s Day.  In 1916 President Woodrow Wilson approved the idea and in 1924 President Calvin Coolidge made it an event. Finally in 1966, President Lyndon Johnson signed a Presidential proclamation declaring the 3rd Sunday in June as Father’s day to put an official stamp on a celebration that was going on for almost half a century.

Let your Father know how much you appreciate him – not with another tie – how about a rack? A rack of ribs, that is. Or bring him by for a full meal on his special day and let him know that you love him for all those times he has been there for you. www.bar-b-cutie.com

"If the new American father feels bewildered and even defeated, let him take comfort from the fact that whatever he does in any fathering situation has a fifty percent chance of being right." -- Bill Cosby
