Happy 4th of July

Happy Father's Day!!!!

Father’s Day began in Washington State in 1909 when one woman wanted to honor her dad and asked her church to have a service dedicated to fathers. It caught on in that state and soon spread across the country.  Soon States and organizations lobbied for an annual Father’s Day.  In 1916 President Woodrow Wilson approved the idea and in 1924 President Calvin Coolidge made it an event. Finally in 1966, President Lyndon Johnson signed a Presidential proclamation declaring the 3^rd Sunday in June as Father’s day to put an official stamp on a celebration that was going on for almost half a century.
