October
October is National Breast Canacer Awareness Month, which is an annual international health compaign organized by major breast cancer charities to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to all those affected by breast cancer.
It was founded in 1985 to pomote mammography as the most effective weapon in the fight against breast cancer, as early detection is important. Pink ribbons were first used in the fall of 1991 when the Susan G. Komen Foundation handed them out to participants in its New York race for breast cancer survivors.
Bar-B-Cutie supports this cause and will have a team in the October 29th Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure in Brentwood, TN. Please feel free to help in this cause by joining our team to walk or by donating at the website below. Thank you for your support!!!

The first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It is to constitute a national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our country. The first Labor Day was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882, in New York City by the Central Labor Union. In 1884, the first Monday in September was selected as the holiday and the Central Labor Union urged similar organizations in other cities to follow the example of New York and celebrate a “workingmen’s holiday” on that date. On June 28, 1894 Congress passed an act making the first Monday in September of each year a legal holiday.
Many people look at Labor Day as the official ending of summer because it is the last holiday of the Summer season. In the early years of Labor Day, it was celebrated with parades and picnics, but now it is mostly a time families and friends get together for picnics and barbecues. Celebrate this Labor Day with Bar-B-Cutie and pick up a Picnic Pack to take to your get-together. Have a safe and happy Labor Day!!!!!!
